My husband, Anthony got me all giddy when he asked me for a date this weekend. It’s been a hectic few months with all our agendas being placed before our date times that when he asked me for a date, I got really excited. For so many years now, we have protected our dates together and I believe it has been truly beneficial to our almost 20 year old marriage. We’ve even made a pact to date each other whether we liked each other or not! Haha, believe me- it’s not easy to date someone you don’t necessarily like at the moment but when you keep your promise to date, well you end up liking each other after all. I guess it’s good to have no choice but to work things out and eventually, your feelings follow and then you start to have a new perspective about things..
Our dates have been spent doing simple, mundane things to sometimes extravagant adventures. We’re after connecting and giving undivided attention to each other and for many, that is actually a luxury. It still is for us considering the many things that call for our attention.
Ok, so you’re wondering where we went for our date…haha, well- tada….
I thought I was seeing a mirage but it’s true! The Purple Oven is now accessible to us. Oh no-there goes my sugar…sugar rush…yahoo!! Now there’s more incentive to train and train hard at that..
Oh yeah, going back to the date…well there aren’t any drinks at the Purple Oven joint but just a tiny, cozy corner good for two people to have a quiet chat and yes, date. As usual we talked about our schedules, just whatever was in our thoughts, my husband got me a healthy smoothie from nearby, some plants and herbs to spice up the house and this:
Yes, they are lemon squares folks! See how I am thrilled with life’s simplest pleasures? 🙂 This transported me to my high school days when they were very popular then. Love my hubby for getting me all giddy with his invite and love the fact he chose to bring me to this new found hub where I can enjoy the sweet, and simple things that make life so much for pleasurable and truly to be thankful for!

This is very inspiring…especially for those like me (us) who are married for almost 10 years already 🙂
Thanks, all the best to your marriage! God bless you 🙂
