mommy talk my passions faith
My daughter, Ella unearthed tons of letters her father received from friends and family as he is fond of writing and receiving letters. She then told me about the letters I had written her dad and those he also wrote to me. I went over them and realised how amazing it is to look back after known each other for 24 years and then married for 22 years.
It just went by so fast and yet the letters revealed how there were times we were madly in love with each other and then doubting if we should take the plunge and then finally brazing ourselves for a life of forever.
I marvel at the fact that the future could have been so different had we taken other paths. But here we are, twenty two years together as husband and wife with our five children. What a joy to share this love and life. We know we could not have done it without the love and support of friends and family who believed in us from day one and who continue to walk with us.
I stared at my husband this morning and yes, after all these years…he does still make me giddy, alright! Yup, this is the man I love and will continue to love. My husband and father of my children. He and our children make me come alive and I thank God for them daily. We are not a perfect family but we are all works in progress and I am certain the best is yet to come.
From the moment we knew we loved each other, Anthony and I were sure-only God could keep us together. We had come from varied backgrounds and perspectives but we have managed and continue to desire to be one by His grace. So it is said on our rock: ‘We love because He first loved us.” This was what we gave away during our wedding day. I kept five for each of our children to keep and eternally remember the rock of our foundation. I declare that it is the only reason we are together-Christ made us one-now and forever.
